Coumadin Clinic

Anti-coagulation medication, often referred to as Coumadin or blood thinners, don’t actually thin your blood. Instead, they increase clotting times to prevent dangerous events related to inappropriate blood clots. It is very important for patients that are taking these medications to be monitored regularly to ensure clotting times are appropriate for the individual.  In our Coumadin Clinic, the patient will meet with our skilled technicians, while they perform a finger stick blood test to get the instant, accurate results. The goal is to stay within a specific range. The technicians, under the supervision of our providers, will adjust the dosage as needed, as well as counsel with patient education. For some patients, we also offer remote monitoring, where the patient checks their levels at home and calls in with the results.
