Julie J. Ramos, M.D.,

Dr. Ramos is a licensed Cardiologist in the East Valley. She joined C.A.I. in 2009. She is proficiently trained in Diagnostic Heart Catheterizations, Nuclear Studies, Echocardiography (ECHOs), including Transesophageal (TEEs), Dobutamine, Stress, and Tissue Doppler Imaging. Dr Ramos is also specialty trained in interpreting Cardiac and Vascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRIs) and multi-slice Cardiac CT Angiography (CTA).

Dr. Ramos was born in New Jersey and attended medical school there. She graduated in 2001 from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, where she received the Clinical Excellence Award 1999-2000 and the Dean’s Commendation for Clinical Achievement in 2001. She completed her Internship and Residency in New York, NY at NYPH-Weill Cornell Medical center in 2004.  She received her Board Certification in Internal Medicine in 2004. She then went on to complete four years of specialty fellowships for Cardiology and Cardiac MRI-CT at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  While at Emory University she served as the Cardiac CT-MRI Course Curriculum Coordinator. Dr. Ramos completed all of her specialty training in 2008 and moved to the East Valley with her family to begin her career here in Arizona.

Dr. Ramos has a Masters Degree in Nutritional Science and completed a Registered Dietician Internship. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA), Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.

Dr. Ramos has several published articles in American Journal of Medical Sciences; Future Cardiology; and American Heart Association Clinical Cardiac Consult. She published an article for the Society of Nuclear Medicine 54th annual meeting. She has had her abstract presented at American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology and won the Best Abstract Presentation Award.

Dr. Ramos will be a great addition to our team and will be heading Cardiac Disease Management of patients and Women’s Heart Health at C.A.I. Dr. Ramos is fluent in Spanish
